Guidelines
Please follow these guidelines with your announcement submission:
- One link per announcement. Link must match the site being promoted. No deep links are allowed. No affiliate links are allowed. (Links of the type yourdomain.com/blog are fine.)
- One announcement submission per website or event. Multiple announcements for the same website or same event are not allowed.
- No other forms of contact are allowed in the announcement. This includes phone numbers, addresses, or e-mail addresses. Visitors from here will go to your website if they’re interested. You can have all the contact information you want on your website, as well as the responsibility for it.
- Websites must be recently created. If it’s been around a while, it doesn’t need to be announced anymore.
- Events must be in the future. If the event has already happened, it doesn’t need to be announced anymore.
- Submit your announcement as you want it to read. This mean deleting “I really enjoy reading <<insert site here>> and think that this would be of interest to your readers.” from the beginning of your announcement, as well as the suggested HTML code for the link that you want at the end. I don’t have my blogging hat on with this site.
- Announcement must fit in the box. I’ve allowed 5,000 characters. That should be plenty. Please don’t squeeze a few extra words out by deleting the spaces between the sentences!
- Submission of an announcement does not guarantee that it will be posted. I reserves final authority over what is posted. Announcements can be rejected for any reason, including but not limited to:
- Really bad grammar or spelling (I’m not going to rewrite your announcement)
- Anything illegal, immoral, or unethical (gambling and pyramid schemes fall into this category)
- Language, either in the announcement or on the site, that is not “G” or “PG”
- The site linked to looks like it’s on the wrong side of the tracks
- Any announcement where it’s clear that you didn’t check out these guidelines first
